About Fortune School of Technology and Management :
FORTUNE SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY & MANAGEMENT (FSTM) was incorporated in 2009.  It was registered as a Private Education Institution (PEI) under Provisions and Regulations of the Private Education Act in 2010 Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF)- FSTM’s UEN number is 200922170D.

FSTM is located at 10 La Salle Street Singapore 456933. FSTM is a fully eco-friendly campus with total land area 2.5 Acres and Built up Area-25000 sq.ft. FSTM offers students the opportunity to study in an eco-friendly campus. The campus is located in the East of Singapore in close proximity to the East Coast Beach and the Marine Parade Library. It is a sprawling campus with 12 state of the art classrooms, a computer lab, a basketball court, a well- stocked library as well as a digital library that boasts more than 83,000 books, journals and other learning resources. FSTM has a student canteen/lounge area. FSTM is one one of the few schools with a designated sick bay area for students.

FSTM is a fully WIFI campus so students and staff can access the internet whenever they are on the campus.

FSTM was founded by Dr. V. K. Agarwal, CEO of IET (Institute of Engineering & Technology) Group of Institutions and of Dr. Arvind Agarwal, CEO of Arya Group of Colleges. Both Dr Arvind and Dr Vishnu are high net worth investors in education industry. Dr Vishnu Agarwal is the CEO of FSTM and he is also the Management Representative of the school.

FSTM has a fully integrated Community Involvement Programme where every student and staff must contribute to Society, thus enhancing the Holistic nature of the courses we provide. FSTM is an environmental friendly campus that practices 3R-Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. We instil these values in all staff and student.

8. Refund Policy :

  • There will be a 7-working days Cooling –off period from the date of signing of the Student Contract which will allow for a maximum refund should students decide to withdraw within this period.
  • The refund policy does not apply:
  When students are asked to leave the School because of disciplinary matters
  When students violate the laws of Singapore
  When students do not fulfil the terms and conditions of Student’s Pass
  When students breach the Student Contract
  • The refund policy applies :
  The school fails, for any reason, to commence the course on the course commencement date;
  The school terminates the course, for any reason, prior to the course commencement date;
 
It fails, for any reason, to complete the course by the course completion date;
 
It terminates the course, for any reason, prior to course completion date
 
The Student’s Pass application is rejected by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority;
  If a student’s enrolment application is rejected by an educational partner due to not meeting certain entry requirements


9. Student Contract :

It is a mandatory requirement by the Council of Private Education (CPE) that all students, sign the Student Contract.

The Student Contract serves to minimise future disputes and hence has to be completely understood by students prior to the enrolment.


10. Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) :

FSTM has in place the FPS to provide full protection to all fees (excluding application/registration fees, miscellaneous fees and GST) paid by students as stated by CPE.

Escrow Scheme – FSTM has appointed Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Singapore (HSBC) as its ESCROW bank. Under the ESCROW scheme, HSBC acts as a trustee. Fees paid by students will be deposited into the ESCROW account and the bank will disburse the fees on a regular basis to FSTM.

NOTE : Course fees will be capped at 6 months until FSTM is awarded the Edu Trust certificate. No full payments will be accepted from students. All payments will be collected in equal instalments. Demand Draft/Cashier’s Order that does not follow the payment instalment stated in the student contract and EDUSPHERE payment voucher will not be accepted.


11. Student’s Pass and Immigration Rules :

International students are required to have a valid Student’s Pass to study in Singapore. The approval for a Student’s Pass will be given by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

International students must abide by the following rules and regulations set out by the ICA :

  • Spend at least a minimum of least 5 hours in School
  • Prohibition from working in Singapore while holding a Student’s Pass
  • Any violation of ICA rules and any other Singapore laws will result in an immediate cancellation of the Student’s Pass.


12. Attendance Requirement :
It
is important to achieve regular attendance and meet the attendance requirement stated by ICA.

International students are expected to maintain their monthly attendance at 90% and above and Singaporeans and PRs are expected to maintain a monthly attendance of 85% and above.

Failure to meet the above requirement can lead to the following :

  • Expulsion where student do not make any improvement in their attendance and/or consistently absent from class despite warnings and counselling given.
  • Rejection of Student’s Pass on re-application/renewal for International students

13. Transfer Policy : Transfer from One Course to another within the School

Request for transfer from one course to another with FSTM will only be considered if the application is submitted by the student before course commencement. All forms are located in the reception’s office. Such transfer is deemed as withdrawal from the original course. A fresh application has to be made for the new course and the procedure for new application shall apply. The application for Student Pass for the new course shall be subject to the approval of ICA. Students who have been given approval to transfer to another course will have to sign another new Student Contract for the new course. The previously signed contract therefore becomes void. The student will be issued with a letter informing of the new status.

Transfer to Other School : Student application to transfer to another school is deemed as termination and withdrawal from the original course. These cases will be treated as Withdrawal without Cause.

However, the student will granted permission to transfer to another school under the following terms and conditions:

  • If they attained a minimum of 90% attendance necessary to fulfil the ICA requirement; and
  • If they have paid all outstanding fees and do not have any arrears in their payment; and
  • If they are applying for enrolment into another school.


14. Medical Insurance :
FSTM has in place a Medical Insurance scheme for all its students as required by CPE.

The coverage of the medical insurance scheme is as follows :

  • Annual limit not less than $20,000
  • At least B1 ward in government and restructured hospitals
  • 24-hours coverage in Singapore and overseas (if student is involved in school-related activities)

The above medical Insurance is valid for an International student till course completion.


15. Feedback Mechanism :

  • Students may provide feedback to raise issue of concern to:
    The Compliance Director (compliance@fstm.edu.sg)
  • Students can seek advice from the Student Service Administrators.
  • Students can approach their lecturers and Student Service Administrators for general academic and non-academic advice. The appointed school counsellor is available on appointment basis should any students need help on counselling pertaining to personal problems.


16. Confidentiality of Student Data :
The school is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of student data. Students' particulars are kept in a controlled environment and only high level staff has access to student information. Information will only be disseminated if needed for regulatory submission requirements. Within our premises we give the assurances that all students’ p files are kept in a secured environment and all information therein is private and confidential. The school is however permitted to publish or release information that is customarily educational in purpose, including but not limited to awards of prizes, medals, scholarship, bursaries, classes of honours and other marks of distinction, student and graduation status.

When the school wishes to use students' particulars, we will make this known to the student and we will also seek consent from the students before publishing their testimonies in our website and/or hard prints.

The above policy stated herein is subject to any applicable law mandating or otherwise requiring disclosure. This policy is also subject to revision from time to time as deemed appropriate.
