On 11 th March 2011, Japan’s most powerful earthquake struck the north-east cost triggering a massive tsunami.
Close to 18000 people have died and more are feared missing from this tragedy. According to newspaper reports, more than half a million people have been left homeless. The Japanese government together with other charity organisations like the Red Cross and Salvation Army are helping the people with the basic needs.
The students of Fortune School of Technology and Management decided to assist in the aid by collecting old clothes for the Japan Relief. The students spent 2 weekends, 2 nd and 9 th April collecting clothes and toys from the houses in the neighbourhood. Close to 30 bags of clothes were collected for the victims of Japan quake.
